How The Catering Finder collects, uses, and protects personal information for event hosts and catering professionals.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you request custom quotes, list a business, or contact us. This includes:

User Event Data
Name, email address, phone number, event date, guest count, event location, budget, and culinary or dietary preferences.
Caterer Account Data
Business name, owner/representative name, business email, phone number, website URL, and physical address.

2. How We Use and Share Your Information

The Catering Finder is a discovery and matching platform. We process your data under the following conditions:

Lead Sharing (Core Service)
When you submit a quote request, you explicitly consent to sharing your contact information and event details with the specific caterer you selected, as well as our curated match alternatives, so they can fulfill your request and send you pricing proposals.
Platform Operations
To maintain, optimize, and secure our directory services using third-party infrastructure tools (such as database hosting via Supabase and email delivery systems).
Bot Protection on Quote Forms
When you submit a quote request, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to help detect automated abuse. Turnstile may process technical signals from your browser (such as IP address and interaction data) to verify the submission. For details, see Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
No Selling of Personal Data
We do not sell your personal information to third-party data brokers or marketing agencies for unrelated commercial purposes.

3. US State Privacy Rights (CCPA/CalOPPA) & GDPR Compliance

Depending on your location, you hold specific rights regarding your data:

Right to Know and Access
You may request a copy of the personal data we store about you.
Right to Deletion (Opt-Out / "Right to be Forgotten")
You can request that we permanently delete your personal information and account from our servers at any time.
How to Exercise Your Rights
To request data deletion or access, contact us at quotes@thecateringfinder.com. We will process your request within thirty (30) days.

4. Data Security and Retention

We implement standard technical security measures to protect your data. We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide our matchmaking services or comply with legal obligations.
